Yes as long as you adhere to the simple pre and post care instructions:
• DO stay out of the sun 4 weeks prior to and following a hair removal session. This is because if you expose the treated area to sunlight (be it the real deal or even sunbeds) you run the risk of your skin hyper or hypo pigmenting. This means it could leave you with dark or light patches – which aren't conducive to that perfect beach bod!
• DO NOT apply fake tanning lotions or tinted moisturisers during the 4 weeks before and after each permanent hair removal session.
• DO tell your therapist if you have plans to go to the sun or indeed expose your skin to UVA or UVB light 4 weeks either side of your session so she/he can best inform you for the next actions
in order to maintain your health and safety.
• DO NOT pluck or wax the hair to be treated prior to a session. This is because IPL and laser work by killing the hair at its root – if you remove the root: the treatment won't work.
• DO inform the therapist of any medications you are currently taking or have been taking previously, of any topical creams or gels that have been applied to the zone to be treated and if you have experienced an adverse reaction in the past to IPL or a similar light based treatment.
