Do you treat over tattoos?

IPL is an effective method of permanent hair reduction. It works by the dark pigment in the hair (melanin) absorbing the light, turning it into heat energy and thus eliminating the hair at the root.

Unfortunately if you have a tattooed area we are not able to treat over this as the dark dye in the tattoo ink darkens your skin colour and therefore means that the light can be absorbed by the skin rather than the hair itself. This can be dangerous and potentially cause hyper or hypo pigmentation of the skin, and as we put client safety as our number one priority we would not treat areas where there are tattoos.

Please note we can treat around these zones: but not directly on the tattoo itself.
